HOW TO USE DHIMAN UNI CONVERTER:
This software is targeted for the users who are accustomed to type in English but want to convey their thoughts in the Punjabi language through Gurmukhi Script.
All the characters provided in Unicode Consortium 7 in Gurmukhi range from U+0900 to U+097F to handle above said Indic language, are covered in the phonetic typing system. On-screen phonetic keyboard is also provided to help the user.
The user can use this software in following ways:
- To Convert Roman Script to Unicode/Legacy Font :
The user has to type in Roman Script in the text box named as “Roman Text box”. The typed text is converted in Real Time to Unicode Devanagari Script as well as Satluj Legacy Font in “Unicode Text Box” and “Satluj Text Box” respectively.
Unicode is a standard system of fonts for internet, whereas legacy fonts are widely used in newspapers and magazine publishing houses. With the advent of e-newspapers and online magazines, there is big requirement of conversion of text from Unicode to legacy Font and vice-versa. The following facilities provided in the software cater to these requirements.
- To Convert Unicode Devanagari Script to Legacy Satluj Font Script:
The user has to type or alternatively may open pre existing Unicode Gurmukhi Script file. The entered text in “Unicode Text Box” will be converted instantly to Legacy Font and displayed in “Satluj Text Box”. The converted text can be copied/saved as a file.
- To Convert Legacy Font Script to Unicode Gurmukhi Script:
The user has to type or alternatively may open pre existing Legacy Font file. The entered text in “Satluj Text Box” will be converted instantly to Unicode Gurmukhi Script and displayed in “Unicode Text Box”. The converted text can be copied/saved as a file.
The maximum number of characters is limited up to 20,000 characters.
